the southern coast of El-Qura bay, before Gabr el-Bint and 2.2 kilometres south of Three Pools. The entry, which is not marked by any sign, is in front of a small Bedouin restaurant at a crack in the reef plate. Usually, a drift dive is done here with the exit 120 meters to the south where a small bay opens in the reef. Descend on a grave slope on which at a depth of 3 meters two caves open up, thus giving the site its name
and represents its major attraction. The southern cave especially,
straight to your right, is well worth a visit: it is covered with soft corals (Alcyonarians).
sponges and black corals (genus Antipathes). After the visit to the caves, descend to a depth of 16-22 meters. Keep the reef to your right and turn south until you reach the immersed bay with the exit. The dive site Umm Sid (N 28°25.654′-E 34°27.352′) is 470 meters to the north of The Caves and is interesting for its fauna as well as for its hard coral formation.
